In the true spirit of Ubuntu and honouring Nelson Mandela’s legacy, Optimi hosted a charity event on Friday, 18 July 2025, in support of the inspiring organisation, Brave to Love. The event brought together staff, donors, and supporters to make a real difference in the lives of victims of human trafficking and abuse, as well as at-risk individuals in Pretoria and surrounding areas.
Mandela Day is more than a commemoration; it is a call to action, and Optimi answered with passion and purpose. The event was a resounding success, thanks to the generous donations and support from internal teams and the broader community.
Special thanks are owed to:
- The CIO Team at Optimi, whose compassion and generosity set the tone for an impactful event.
- Hatfield Christian Church, whose financial contribution will support Brave to Love’s ongoing community outreach and rehabilitation efforts.
- Food Sock Meals, for their donation of nutritious meals, ensuring food for 144 victims.
- The many public supporters who opened their hearts and wallets to back this cause – your kindness was truly appreciated.
Brave to Love is a registered non-profit organisation committed to restoring dignity, purpose, and identity to those affected by sexual exploitation, abuse, and homelessness. Operating primarily in Pretoria's inner city, Brave to Love offers trauma support, safe spaces, skills development, and spiritual care. Their unwavering dedication is changing lives, one heart, one story at a time.
“It’s truly moving to see how collective action can create lasting impact,” said Ilze Schultz from Optimi. “Partnering with Brave to Love gave our Mandela Day initiative real meaning, and we are honoured to be part of a solution that goes beyond just one day.”
The Mandela Day event was a day of giving and a platform to amplify awareness about Brave to Love’s critical work. Optimi is proud to stand alongside such a passionate team and hopes to inspire other organisations to become involved and support similar life-changing initiatives, spreading awareness and sparking change.
